Frances Jean Avans, 82, of Soddy Daisy, died on Sunday, May 24, 2015. 

A native of Flat Top Mountain, she attended Soddy Daisy schools. Frances loved to cook, especially for her family, she also loved telling jokes, listening to old country music. The daughter of the late Francis and Frances Ruby Steakley Ledford, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Curtis Avans; siblings, Hazel Wright, Darlene Dent, Bill Ledford, and Charles Ledford.

Survivors include her siblings, Wanda Epearson, Lloyd Ledford, Mary Barker, and Sandy Sims; grandchildren, Tammy (Josh) Kidwell, Anita Avans, Nicole Green, and Hilary (Marvin) Foster; great-grandchildren, Anna and Audrey Kidwell, Preston Ghazi, Layla Hamrick, Bryson and Braden Green, Elissa Rutherford, and Gavin Avans. 

Granny was a feisty little lady till the end and will be dearly missed. 

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, in Hamilton County Memorial Park with Reverend Brian Kerns officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, P. O. Box 46, Chattanooga, Tn. 37401. 

Arrangements are by Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8911 Dallas Hollow Road, Soddy Daisy, Tn.
