Volunteers And Local Celebrities To Collect Spare Change At McDonald’s Restaurants For Families At The Ronald McDonald House On June 5

  • Tuesday, May 5, 2015

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga will have its "Day of Change" campaign on Friday, June 5, from 7-10:30 a.m. 39 Chattanooga area McDonald’s restaurants and Regions Banks will be encouraging individuals to donate their extra change to help families with sick children.

Officials said, "It is time to make change with your quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies for families in need. No matter what you’ve got saved up or in your pockets, it will make a huge difference."

One full donation box at a McDonald’s restaurant totals to $55, which is the cost of one family to stay at RMHC of Greater Chattanooga for one night. Last year alone, RMHC Day of Change locally raised more than $18,000 in just a few hours. These funds go to help support programs at RMHC of Greater Chattanooga that improve the health and well-being of children.

When the public goes to McDonalds on the morning of June 5, they should keep an eye out for local volunteers (even some local celebrities) who will be at various locations encouraging customers to make change for the better.

RMHC Day of Change embraces the importance of giving back and being a hero for a good cause to help those in need. Locally, the Chattanooga Times Free Press, Regions Bank, and CAT Country 95.3 FM have partnered with area McDonald's to participate.

There will be a radiothon the day before Day of Change on CAT Country 95.3 FM from 7 a.m.– 7 pm. The goal of the radiothon is to raise funds for families, share RMHC family testimonials, and to emphasize Day of Change held the following day.
