Family Camp Out Event Scheduled For July 8-10 At Chester Frost Park

Hamilton County Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with Read 20, will present a Great American Campout Celebration Mini Camp and Family Camp Out July 8-10 at Chester Frost Park. Daily minicamp is for campers and their parents or guardians ages 5-10. There are two sessions: ages 5-7 (with parent of guardian present) is 10 a.m.-noon and ages 8 -10 is 2-4 p.m. (guardians are not required to stay with this age group). Raptor session at 1 p.m. on 7/9 for both groups.

Daily activities will include art, nature and creative discovery led by Read 20, Reflection Ridging and Arboretum-Nature Center, Creative Discovery Museum, TN Wildlife Resources Agency, & TN Environmental Education Student Alliance. Campers must bring their own lunches, cool beverages and snacks and wear close toed shoes.

This camp has a fee of $50 per camper and includes a one night stay in the campground on Friday, July 10 for those participating in mini-camp. Registration is limited and you must register by July 3. If you would like to get any more information or to pre-register call 842-6748.
