Dixie Youth Baseball: Signal Mountain Wins 9-10s Title

Using a trio of pitchers – Forrest Sveadas (2 innings), Sam Eldridge (3-5th inning) and Carter Giles (6th  inn.)  - who combined for two strikeouts and allowing just two earned runs, the Signal Mountain American defeated Signal Mountain National, 8-4, to win the Dixie Youth Baseball District 6 championship for 9-10s (AA) Tuesday at Senter Field on Lookout Mountain.

Offensively, Sveadas, Jackson Phillips and Sam Eldridge each had a single and scored a run, while Trey Speek and Carter Giles each walked twice and scored twice for the victors.

The defensive highlight of the game was an unassisted double play by Speek at shortstop in the second inning.

The National was led by Tye Harper, Josh Thompson and Preston Kincer who each had a single.

Both teams advance to the state tournament which will be held in Savannah beginning July 16.

DYB District 6 Champions and Runners-up:
