Emily's Ironman 3rd Training Event Is Sunday

  • Wednesday, July 22, 2015

Pratt Home Builders will host the third of four Ironman training events on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. for the 12 athletes who will be participating as Emily’s Power for a Cure Team in the 2015 Chattanooga Ironman competition scheduled for Sept. 27.

Andy Sweet, a trainer at HUB Endurance, has set this challenge as a team running event. Each team member will run ¼ mile circuits through the Pratt neighborhood.

Each athlete is paired with a child - their “Hero” - who is battling cancer, and has a goal of raising $1,900 each for Neuroblastoma research through these training events. Neighbors, friends and other athletes are encouraged to come out and cheer on these “Champions”.  The Champions come from all walks or life: police officers, dentist, Starbucks barista, personal trainer, gymnastics teacher and more.

Pink bandanas and snacks will be available for purchase as part of the fund raising efforts.

Emily’s Power for a Cure Foundation raises funds and awareness for research to find a cure for Neuroblastoma - the most commonly diagnosed cancer in infants and children, while helping families who are actually fighting the disease.
