Thankful Officers Had Take Home Police Cars July 16

  • Wednesday, July 22, 2015

Chattanooga Police Chief Fletcher stated during a news conference that off-duty Chattanooga police officers responded from home as the shooting at the two military facilities was happening.  I would like to thank those officers and all officers for doing an outstanding job.

I would also like to thank Mayor Berke for changing former Mayor Littlefield’s policy regarding police take home police cars.  I hate to think of a possible alternative outcome if the policy had not been changed to a more common sense policy.

Some off duty officers would have had to pass the active situation to go to the police service center to get their cars and equipment before they could respond.
