A Chattanoogan who climbed to the dizzying heights of the Brooklyn Bridge and then took a photo of himself has been arrested as a fugitive from New York.

Authorities there filed charges against David Karnauch after he pulled the stunt in early July with heavy traffic below him.

He used a Selfie Stick in making the photo that he posted to Instagram.

Karnauch, 21, later told NBC News that he does not advise others to try the same trick.

He was arrested on Monday and booked at the Hamilton County Jail.

Karnauch is due to appear before General Sessions Court Judge David Bales on Aug. 31 at 1:30 p.m.
