The Dalton State volleyball team swept an exhibition double header Saturday at Truett-McConnell College.

The Roadrunners opened with a 4-1 win over the host Bears. Dalton State took the first match against TMC. 26-24, but fell in the second match, 25-19. Coach Bruna Langer changed things up a bit for the third and won 25-15. The final match was won by DS, 25-22.

Dalton State then swept Piedmont College with match wins of 25-19, 25-17 and 25-20.

“The trip gave us a chance to see how we can do against someone other than ourselves,” said Langner, who has seven new players from last year’s team.

“Truett-McConnell is much improved from the last two season,” she added. ”Their coach has done an excellent job of recruiting.”

Roadrunner volleyball opens the season on Friday and Saturday (August 28-29) at the Lindsey Wilson Classic in Columbia, Ky. After four games there, Dalton State’s home opener is Saturday, September 5th for matches against Reinhardt University and Milligan College.
