Steveson (Steve) Lewis, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died on Tuesday, August 25, 2015.

He was born 85 years ago on Aug. 16, 1930, to the late Mae and Pete Lewis in Lewis Chapel, Tennessee.  He was a former member and Deacon of East Ridge Baptist Church and was a current member of First Baptist Church of Ringgold.

Steve served his country in the Korean War as a Marine. After he recovered from injuries received in the war, he went to work as a metallurgical engineer at Combustion Engineering for more than 30 years. Steve was a well-respected deacon at East Ridge Baptist Church; the past Master of the East Ridge Masonic Lodge #755, and a wonderful, caring, Godly man who will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his much-loved wife, Mary, and brothers and sisters Gene, Coleman, Bessiephene Day, Mary Helen Montgomery, Granvill, Jo Ann Norwood.

Survivors include daughters: Pam (Mark) Gentry, Ooltewah; Beth (David) Morgan, Roswell, Ga.; grandchildren: Danielle Wright, Huntsville; Zach Morgan, Atlanta; Jessica Wright, Memphis; and Casey Morgan, Roswell, Georgia; brother: Garnett Lewis, Hixson; sister: Doris Dodd, Hixson, and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at noon on Thursday, Aug. 26, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Alan Johnston officiating, assisted by Reverend Eric Kennedy.

Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with sons-in-law, grandson, future grandson-in-law, and nephews serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at Heritage Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 7454 East Brainerd Road.
