Clyde C. Darnell, 82, of Old Fort, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday August 26, 2015 at Standifer Place in Chattanooga.
He was born July 23, 1933 to the late James and Harriet Darnell. He was a lifelong resident of Polk County, TN and attended Ball Play Baptist Church in Old Fort, TN. Mr. Darnell was skilled with working with his hands, loved working with anything mechanical, and he enjoyed blue grass music.
In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his daughter, Myra Regina Darnell; and his brothers and sisters.
Clyde is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Betty Jean Darnell; two sons, Mark Darnell (Dana) of Cleveland and Jonathan Darnell (Michele) of Ocoee; and three grandchildren, Hayden, Jonah and Jake Darnell.
Officiating at the service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29 will be Rev. Matthew Harris and Rev. David Moore. Interment will follow in Greasy Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Mac Wilcoxon, Michael Darnell, Silas Stewart, Scott Loftis, Gene Young, and Donald (P-Nut) Wilson.
Visitation will be held at Ball Play Baptist Church in Old Fort, TN Friday, Aug. 28 from 5-8 p.m. and will resume on Saturday, Aug. 29 from 10-11 a.m.
