Russell Ray Woodard, 66, of Spencer, Tennessee, died on Sunday, August 2, 2015.

He was of the Baptist faith. Russell served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernie and Lucille Woodard; sister, Betty Cook; and brothers, Jimmy, Huey, Herbert and Irwin Woodard.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Van Winkle Woodard; step-daughters, Rhonda Kimball, Memphis and Rita Montgomery, Hazel Green, AL; step-son, Rip Van Winkle, Spencer, TN; granddaughters, Janita Hill, Mica Van Winkle; grandsons, Tony and Billy Kimball, Billy Rip Van Winkle, Jr. and Ty Van Winkle; sister, Dorothy Gross; brothers, Ernest and Bill Woodard, all of Louisiana; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Russell’s life will be Friday, Aug. 7, at 4 p.m. at New Zion Baptist Church in Kentwood, LA.  Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the church Thursday, Aug. 6 from 5-9 p.m. CDT, and Friday, Aug. 7, from 1-4 p.m.

Pikeville Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
