Jimmie Green Barker, age 88, of Chattanooga, died on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015.
Jimmie was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area and a member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church for over 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph C. Barker; parents, James and Zadie Green; brothers, Albert Henry Green, Leonard “Bill” Green, Joseph “Joe” Green, Murphy Green, Elmer Green; sisters, Ruby May Green and Louise Green.
Jimmie is survived by her daughter, Deborah B. Leonard of Chattanooga; granddaughter, Emily Leonard (Jon) Palan, New York City, NY; grandson, Seth Peterson (Ellyn) Leonard of Raleigh, NC; brothers, Fred Green and Howard “Jack” Green both of LaFayette, GA; sisters, Betty Jean Blalock, Ringgold, GA, Margaret Hullander and Maryanne Ballenger both of LaFayette, GA; sister-in-law, Mary Alice Barker, Ooltewah.
The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Graveside services for Jimmie will follow at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with her brother Reverend Harold “Jack” Green officiating.
