Darrell S. Freeman, Chattanooga native and founder of information and technology services firm Zycron, Inc., has donated 100 GoogleChromebooks Computers to Brainerd High School. The computers, two per classroom, are being installed this week.
Mr. Freeman will host a luncheon presentation on Wednesday at noon in partnership with CHATECH (Chattanooga Technology Council) to commemorate the donation, at Brainerd High School, for Chattanooga technology, academic and community leaders.
Mr. Freeman will share his personal story of how access to education changed his life, and discuss new ways for corporations to increase and improve the local technology workforce by contributing to public education initiatives. He hopes to form a coalition of business leaders to explore commerce-driven involvement and investment in public schools in Tennessee. Mr. Freeman serves as a member of the Tennessee Board of Regents.
