2016 AEGIS Law Enforcement Foundation Luncheon Held Tuesday

  • Wednesday, October 19, 2016

Over 400 members of law enforcement, community stakeholders, elected officials, and members of the business community had the opportunity to attend the 2016 AEGIS Law Enforcement Foundation’s 2016 Annual Luncheon on Tuesday.

"This year’s guest speaker was sheriff and internationally renowned law enforcement expert, Ray Nash. With more than 37 years of law enforcement experience, Sheriff Nash retired in 2009 after serving three terms as the elected sheriff of Dorchester County, S.C. to pursue an overseas mission. For more than three years, Sheriff Nash supported the international police reform effort in Afghanistan as the criminal justice advisor for the US Embassy in Kabul and the professional development director for the International Police Coordination board. Most recently, Mr. Nash founded Focal Point Investigations where he serves as its CEO and chief investigator.

"Sheriff Nash offered a motivating call to law enforcement and the community. His message was very timely and spoke to ways to help heal the divide that is growing in some parts of our country between law enforcement and citizens. He also spoke about what it takes to serve and to be an honorable and upstanding law enforcement officer and the importance of community support.

"The AEGIS Law Enforcement Foundation seeks to build community partnerships between local law enforcement and the business community in Hamilton County in order to help raise funds to purchase important equipment and training necessary for our local law enforcement personnel.

"Most recently, the AEGIS Law Enforcement Foundation, in cooperation with many business partners, was able to secure funding for a new, state-of-the-art Firearms Training Simulator and purchase bullet-proof vests for our local law enforcement K-9’s in Hamilton County.

"Yesterday’s event was well attended and continues to strengthen our community’s relationship between local law enforcement and the business community," officials said.
