Steven Lamar Caldwell, 56, of Varnell, Georgia, died on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Hamilton Medical Center.

Steven was born Oct. 7, 1960 in Dalton; and was preceded by his father, Henry Caldwell, daughter, April Maddox; and brother Johnny Caldwell.

Steven Lamar Caldwell is survived by his wife, Brenda Caldwell; mother, Mary Floyd Caldwell; sons and daughters-in-law, Cody and Ally Chastain of Rocky Face and Allen Thomason of Resaca, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Tiffani and Gregg Cooper of Cohutta, GA and Emily Caldwell of Varnell, GA; sisters, Sherry Caldwell of Rocky Face, GA and Ramona Cornelison of Fort Riley, KS; seven precious grandbabies, Korban Cooper, Ryker Cooper, Silas Cooper, Dylan Maddox, Sofia Maddox, Connor Chastain and Aubrey Chastain.

Service to celebrate the life of Steven Lamar Caldwell will be held Friday Oct. 28, at 2:30 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Rev. Barry Coker and Rev. Chuck Harmon officiating. Interment will follow at Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with A.J Thacker, Corey Cooper, Cody Chastain, Allen Thomason, Josh Whitmire, Kyle Pettyjohn and Dylan Lowe serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Funeral Home, Thursday Oct. 27 from 3-9 p.m.

Ponders Melrose Chapel, Dalton has charge of the arrangements.
