Gerald "Bud" Peeples, 74, of Rocky Face, Georgia, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2016 at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mort & Leona Peeples; brothers, Frank, Robert, Mort, Jr., Morris, Bernard, Harlan and Paul Peeples; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Woodrow & Fannie Maxwell.
Mr. Peeples was a member of Rocky Face Baptist Church. Bud loved people. He was number 13 of 14 children. He was kind, oh so funny, and a very good man that loved his wife, children, grandchildren and his huge Peeples family.
He is survived by loving wife of 56 years, Linda Maxwell Peeples of the residence; daughter, Angela Peeples Gentry of Rocky Face; son & daughter-in-law, Doug & Jan Peeples of Dalton; sisters & a brother-in-law, Carolyn Anderson of Chatsworth, Martha & Jesse Hart of Montgomery, TX, Mary Nell Calfee of Lufkin, TX; brothers & sisters-in-law, Dr. James & Ann Peeples of Hickory, NC, John & Frances Peeples of Chatsworth and Julian & Jane Peeples of Cohutta; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Joyce Maxwell of Dalton, Elaine and Jerry Hankins of Rocky Face, Jean Cope of Dalton and Linda Mullinax Peeples of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Courtney Lee Chandler and fiancé James Howe and Adam William Gentry; extended family members, Mallory and Jason Clark, Madison Rogers, Jake and Holly Mitchell, Jada Bunch; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday, Dec. 12 at 3 p.m. at the Rocky Face Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Van Smith and Rev. Reagan Marsh officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 11 a. m. until the service time at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rocky Face Baptist Church Benevolence Fund.
