Sammie Gee Scoggins, 71, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at a local nursing home.
She loved to go to church and was a member of the Springplace Road Church of God. Sammie also enjoyed crafts and loved to shop and travel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter & Gladys Gee; brother, Paul Gee; and sister, Marie Dockery.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Scoggins; children Sonya Swafford of Signal Mountain and Rhonda Smith of Sacramento, CA; step-children; Debra Martin of Cleveland and Sherry Lang of North Carolina; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Edward Gee and Walter Gee Jr; and one sister Sue Pierce.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Grissom Serenity Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
