Lenora Darnell Green, 79, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Gordon Hospital.
The family would like to thank the staff of Gordon Hospital for the care that she received. Ms. Green put herself through nursing school as a single parent, serving others as a nurse for thirty-plus years. She was also a lifelong avid Atlanta Braves fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bessie and Lee Darnell; brothers, Eugene, Howard, Hershel and Frank Darnell; and sisters-in-law, Macie Darnell and Nancy Darnell.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Michael Ogles of Adairsville; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Susan Green of Dalton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Edward Pollard and Faye and Junior Patterson, both of Dalton; brother and sisters-in-law, Delmar Darnell and Bill and Teresa Darnell, all of Dalton; grandchildren, Joshua Ogles, David Ogles, Lee Green, and Sam Green; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, Feb. 10 from 3-6:30 p.m.
