Governor's Council Accepting Applications In Anticipation Of Court Of Criminal Appeals Vacancy

The Governor’s Council for Judicial Appointments is accepting applications for the Court of Criminal Appeals vacancy that will occur if the general assembly confirms Governor Bill Haslam’s appointment of Roger A. Page to the Supreme Court.

Any interested applicant must be a licensed attorney who is at least 30 years of age, a resident of the state for five years, and a resident of the Western Tennessee Grand Division. Applicants must complete the designated application, which is available at www.tncourts.gov, and submit it to the Administrative Office of the Courts before Friday, Feb. 26, at noon CST

All applicants also will be required to complete prior to the meeting date a Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Level II Security Clearance Application. The application is available online from the TBI’s website at www.tn.gov/tbi/article/tbi-security-clearance-applications

The Governor’s Council for Judicial Appointments will interview all qualified applicants in Jackson in March at a location to be announced soon. The meeting will include a public hearing, during which members of the public may express any objections to any applicant. The interview and public hearing will be open to the public.
