Signal Mountain Wins 7AA Baseball Title Over CCS

The Signal Mountain baseball team scored five runs on just four hits to beat the Chargers of CCS 5-3 in the District 7AA baseball championship Wednesday night.

CCS's Justin Wheeler, Amos Corbett and Chris King each had two hits but the Chargers were only able to score one run in the second, fifth and sixth innings.  

Signal Mountain scored two in the first and two in the fourth.  

Jackson Etter, Garret Hensley and Briston Reece each had an RBI for Signal.  

Etter pitches all seven innings for Signal striking out nine batters. 

Matthew Mercer and Brandon Mason each pitched three innings for CCS.  Mercer allowed three hits and Mason one.  Mercer struck out four and Mason two.

Both teams advance to regional play next week.
