William “Bill” Alfred Eaves, Sr., 90, of Ringgold, Georgia, died on Friday, June 24, 2016.

A native of Chattanooga, he has lived in the North Georgia area for the past 50 years and had formerly lived in the Nashville area. Bill retired from O’Neal Steel where he worked for 35 years having last served as vice president of the company and also worked with Wilson Funeral Home for over 10 years. He was a member of Boynton United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Wesley Sunday School Class and was a former member of the Boynton Lions Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Edwin and Nellie Eldridge Eaves; and brother, Robert Edwin Eaves III.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Iris Williams Eaves of Ringgold; daughter, Jane Eaves of Sewanee, Tn.; son and daughter-in-law, Bill Eaves and Sherry Jordon of Blaine, Mn.; brother, Charles “Cliff” Eaves of Chattanooga; special great-nephew, Matthew Williams and other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, at the Boynton United Methodist Church with Pastor Randy Walworth officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Boynton United Methodist Church 4246 Boynton Dr., Ringgold, Ga., 30736, or to the Alzheimer’s Association Mid-south Chapter at 7625 Hamilton Park Dr. Suite 6, Chattanooga, Tn., 37421.

The family would like to thank the CNAs and nurses at Alexian Brothers Valley for all the care they gave to Bill and the family.

Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel, Ringgold.
