McKenzie, Walter "Walt" Harris (LaFayette)

Walter  “Walt”  Harris  Mckenzie,  77,  of  LaFayette, Georgia,  passed  away  Monday, June 27, 2016.

Walt  was  born  to  the  late  James  Harvey  McKenzie  and  Annie  Corrine  Nixon  McKenzie.  Walt  was  a  veteran  of  the  U.S.  Air  Force.  He  retired  from  Omega  trucking  company  and  was  a  member  of  Corinth  Baptist  Church.

Walt  is  survived  by  his  loving  wife  of  30  years,  Zonia  Larmon  McKenzie;  daughters,  Denise  Hoverman  of  Ohio  and  Sherrie  McKenzie  of  LaFayette;  sons,  Kenny  (Eve)  Watts  of  Rock  Spring,  Johnny  Watts  of  Florida,  and  Kevin  (Stephanie)  McKenzie  of  LaFayette;  sister,  Nellie  Cochran  of  Trion;  grandchildren,  Shona  (Steven)  Fountain,  Jamie  Watts,  Nikki  Garcia  and  Jacob  Watts;  three  great-grandchildren;  and several  nieces  and  nephews.

Funeral  from  the  Corinth  Baptist  Church  Thursday,  June 30  at  6 p.m.  with  Pastor  Wayne  Wallin  officiating. Pallbearers  are  Daniel  Haney,  James  Haney,  Chris  Cochran,  Jamey  Cochran,  Jacob  Watts  and  Steven  Fountain. Interment  will follow in  the  Corinth  Church  Cemetery.

Family  will  receive  friends  at  the  church  from  4 p.m.  until  service  time.

Arrangements  are  by  Wallis-Wilbanks  Funeral  Home,  LaFayette.
