Crisp, Dewayne D. (Cleveland)

Dewayne D. Crisp, 72, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016 in a Chattanooga health care facility.

He was born on July 31, 1943 to the late Staton and Mary Crisp. Dewayne was a well-known brick and block mason for many years. Dewayne was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army after faithfully serving his country. He was an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle lover. However, Dewayne will be most remembered for being a lovingfamily man devoted to each one of them. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Vernel Crisp; and two sisters, Marylene Crisp and Gertha Dean Crisp. 

Dewayne is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 34 years, Phyllis Hancock Crisp; six children, Mary Gates (Bruce Hayes), Jeff Crisp, Angie Kyker, Kelley Stone, John Shamblin (Jamie) and Jeff Hall; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; eight siblings, Odell Crisp, Dedreck Crisp, Wendell Crisp, Ethel Newberry and Stanley Crisp all of Cleveland, Gail Dalton of Reliance, Labron Crisp of Longs, SC and Denise Clonts of Orlando, FL; and numerous other extended family members and special friends. 

A celebration of his life is planned for Thursday, June 30 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend Labron Crisp officiating. Interment will follow in the Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery and will conclude with Military Honors.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 29 from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home parlor and also one hour prior to the service on Thursday. 

Companion Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
