Helen Nelson, 90, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her son, Charles “Hobson” Nelson, Jr.; parents, M. C. & Amelia Pinion; and sisters, Eloise Mullins and Marion Foshee.
She was a member of Mt. Rachel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Charles Nelson, Sr. of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia & Donald Blair of Cohutta; brother, M. C. “Sonny” Pinion, Jr. of Blue Ridge; four grandchildren, Daniel, Robbin (Jason), Billy and Charles (Melinda); five great-granddaughters, Kendyl, Courtney, Keylee, Teagyn and Teryn; and nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held Sunday, July 31, at 1 p.m. at West Hill Cemetery with Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Blair, Billy Blair, Charles Blair, Rayford Hammontree, Michael Ogle and Russell Kinsey.
The family will receive friends at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home on Saturday, July 30 from 5-8 p.m.
