The DEO Clinic will host a concert with singer and songwriter Earl Brackin on Saturday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m.  The benefit concert will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 101 S. Selvidge St, in Dalton.

The concert will feature songs from Mr. Brackin’s most recent solo project, an acoustic interpretation of classic Appalachian hymn melodies. He will be accompanied by an upright bass, fiddle and dobro.

Review for Earl Brackin:

The last few years have been quite a whirlwind for Earl as a performer. He was invited to take his band to Russia for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, where they entertained people from all over the world who gathered for the games. His song “Big Leagues” was selected for the title track of Bluegrass Bands Helping Hands Vol. 3 which helped raise money for the construction of Miracle Field for persons with disabilities. Another favoritej“Grits on Her Lipstick” was included on Scenic City Sampler which features artists from the Chattanooga area.

Earl was also one of 10 songwriters selected to participate in the ASCAP sponsored Songwriters Showcase at the International Bluegrass Musicians Association’s World of Bluegrass.  When not touring with his band or playing solo at singer/songwriter venues, Earl can be heard playing mandolin for Spatial Effects bluegrass band, a regional favorite.

The tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Advance tickets are recommended as seating is limited. Advance tickets may be purchased at the Dalton Freight Depot Gift Shop; Southern Accessories and Accents; Clark, Davies, Easley & Pool; and online at http://tinyurl.com/jyrxpap.
