World War II Veteran Held Long Career With Brown Brothers

Armour Russell Cagle "Shorty", 96, died on November 17, 2017.

As a WWII veteran, he participated in the Normandy Invasion and received the Purple Heart, two Bronze Stars, Good Conduct and the European Theater Medals. He was retired from Brown Brothers after 35 years.

He is survived by Marjorie, his wife of 67 years, daughters, Joyce (Ron) Cope, Cheryl (Ken) Rice, Darlene (Bob) Doak and Sandra Cagle, son, Wayne (Brenda) Cagle, special grandson, Shawn Holbert, eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, sisters, Janie Smith & Dorothy (Dot) Louallen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dexter and Lella Mae Keedy Cagle, brothers, Melvin, Arcie, twin brother Ob and A.D., sisters, Una Pursley, Villa Mae (Boots) Pursley and Thelma Cox.

A funeral service will be held at the Chattanooga Funeral Home - North Chapel on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at 10:30 am. There will be a private burial at the National Cemetery with military honors

Arrangements are held by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
