Humphreys, Mary (Ringgold)

Mary Humphreys, 79, formerly of Ringgold, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017 in Rochelle, Ga.  She was the widow of Monroe Humphreys, and was a graduate of West Georgia College.  She was a member of the Ringgold United Methodist Church.  She was a retired teacher in Whitfield county with over 30 years of service.  She was a past president of the Catoosa County Historical Society.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Annie Dover; niece, Regina Allen; nephew, Dolton Smith; and brother in law, Walter Jackson.  

She is survived by brother, Jerry (Peggy) Dover, Riceville, Tn.; sister, Barbara Jackson, Rochelle, Ga.; niece, Leigh Ann Clements; nephews, Russell (Amy) Dover and Dallas (Jenny) Dover; and several great-nieces and nephews. 

The family would like to extend special thanks to Mary's 'special angel' Sheila Woodard for her love and care during her illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Heritage Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Anderson Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from noon-2 p..m. Sunday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
