Lesley Gene Metcalf, Sr., 78, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and was of the Christian faith. He was previously employed with Evans Disposal for many years and was always known for living life to the fullest. He loved old western shows and movies, and spent a lot of time being a vendor at many area flea markets.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth Metcalf; two brothers, Jimmy and Roger Metcalf; and one sister.
Survivors include five children, Lesley Eugene Metcalf, Jr. of Dayton, Glenn (Jessica) Metcalf of Ringgold, Tommy Metcalf of East Ridge, Jerry (Pamela) Metcalf of Graysville, Tn. and Jeannie Metcalf of Hixson; brothers, Grady Metcalf and Rell Metcalf of East Ridge; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. Troy Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Daily Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, all day Wednesday and prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
