Geraline "Gerry" Colter

Geraline “Gerry” Colter, 83, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017.

She was known for her teaching ability and organizational skills. Gerry was very talented and played many musical instruments. She loved to entertain and cook for family and friends. Gerry attended Ooltewah Church of God and was a very devoted pastor’s wife during his ministry for 62 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Head; brother, Roy Head and sister, Lou Butler.

She is survived by her husband of over 62 years, William “Danny” Colter; sisters, Faye Pharr and Shirley (Wilkie) Green; brother, Bill (Margaret) Head; brother-in-law, Coy Butler and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Thursday, March 23, from 4-8 p.m.

A visitation prior to the service from 10-11:30 a.m. and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Ministry Center, 2929 Hamill Road, Hixson, Tn. 37343 on Friday, March 24, at 11:30 a.m. with Reverend Edmond Stallings officiating.  A committal service to follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Missions Program at Ooltewah Church of God, 9320 Lee Highway, Ooltewah, Tn. 37363.

Arrangements are held by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
