Etta Fay Swafford, 83, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday April 15, 2017 at her home.
She was a lifelong resident of Bradley County. She was employed by American Uniform for 17 years as a seamstress and supervisor. She was the owner and CEO of Fay Swafford Originals a manufacturer of ladies handbags & luggage in Cleveland, TN, which at one time had over 650 employees. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Westwood Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband, James R. “Jimmy” Swafford; brother, Raymond Jones; and sisters, Dorothy Beaty and Carolyn Cannon.
She is survived by her loving son, Joel Swafford, of Cleveland; brother, Johny Jones, of Georgetown; granddaughter, Ashley Swafford; and great-grandchildren, Colby and Abigail Pritts.
A celebration of life graveside service is planned for Friday April 21, at 11 a.m. in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, with Reverend Johnny Jones officiating the service. A funeral procession will leave from Companion Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. for those wanting to join, or you may meet at the cemetery as well.
Visitation is planned for Thursday April 20, from 6-8 p.m. at Companion Funeral Home, located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW.
