Elizabeth Odom Wadsworth, 98, of Chatsworth, Georgia, died on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Elizabeth was born June 24, 1918 in Bolton, NC to the late John William Odom Sr. and Sallie Smith Odom; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Wadsworth; son, Capt. John L. Wadsworth; brother, John W. Odom Jr.; great-grandson, Zackary Davis; sisters, Annie Mae Skipper, Tiny Odom. She enjoyed oil paintings, made porcelain dolls, designed and made clothes. She won many hair styling trophies and awards.
She is survived by her children, Sharon and Dave Preston of Chatsworth, GA, Wanda and Loran Cecil of Chester, VA, Gloria Wadsworth of Cohutta, GA, Sallie Evans of Morehead City, NC; brother, D.T. Long of Wilmington, NC; 25 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Elizabeth Odom Wadsworth will be held Friday April 28, at 3 p.m. from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Christian Griggs officiating. She will lie in state at the church from 2-3 p.m. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery with Michael Hamoy, Dustin Hamoy, Hunter McGhee, David Lee, Brandon Wadsworth, Jonathan Preston, Wayne Russel Lee, and Conner Wadsworth serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, April 27 from 6-8 p.m.
