Thomas Cranston Trimble, age 60, has entered eternal rest, concluding a valiant battle with bone cancer. He died peacefully on Saturday, June 10, 2017.

Tom was born the third son of Arch and Lou Trimble, joining what would grow into a family of five siblings. He was a graduate of Chattanooga High School and also attended UTC. He was a life-long member of Central Church of Christ. A working man from the age of 14, his jobs included maintaining a paper route, employment by the City of Chattanooga asphalting playgrounds and painting boiler rooms, and delivering prescriptions for Moore and King Pharmacy. He would join the family business, Arch E. Trimble Insurance Agency, on January 1, 1976. His career as an insurance agent would span more than four decades and culminate with BB&T Huffaker Trimble Insurance. Ever the gourmand, Tom was well-versed in the offerings of all ?ne eateries, appreciating both traditional and exotic dishes. His appreciation of fast bikes and fast boats never waned. He loved the outdoors and time spent with his friends and family. Practicing abundant generosity was a hallmark of his life. He will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Arch E. Trimble, Sr., (Elizabeth); his mother, Lou Gas Trimble; brothers: Steven Winston Trimble, M.D., and Arch E. Trimble, lll; and his infant son, Thomas Vincent Trimble.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 36 years, Cynthia Prichard Trimble; son, Jefferson Lockwood Trimble; father, Colonel United States Marine Reserve,  Arch E. Trimble, Jr. and Jo Trimble; brother, James Franklin Trimble (Cheryl); sister, Beth Trimble Geary (Tim); sisters-in law: Joanne Trimble, Vanessa Trimble, Sarah Webb (Bud); nephews: Bard Trimble, Arch E. Trimble, IV, (Katherine), Reed Trimble, Jay Trimble, Chase Trimble, Arch E. Trimble,V, Addison Webb, lll; and niece, Sarah Beth Geary.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel, Highway 153.  Graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at Chattanooga Memorial Park, 501 Memorial Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37415, where Tom will be laid to rest beside his namesake and infant son, Tommy. Minister David Schonhoff will officiate.

Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
