Signal Mountain Self Storage To Expand

  • Wednesday, July 5, 2017

Due to new housing being built in Chattanooga and surrounding areas, Signal Mountain Self Storage is expanding, bringing the area a newly renovated facility with a total of 600 units and will be 19,580 ft.

"Signal Mountain Self Storage is seeing a lot of progress in their expansion. The demolition phase has now ended, and phase two will soon be underway," officials said.

The facility, formerly the site of Mountain Creek Grammar School and Mountain Creek Elementary School, will be keeping artifacts such as the brick and concrete cornerstone that lists the name of the school, the year erected, school board members, the builder, and the architect.  The brick that is being recycled has now been set aside and will be used to form interior walls for the front office. The project is currently scheduled to be completed this September.

Property Manager Leslie Bruce said, “I am doing two scrapbooks, one for the new office and one for the owner with pictures and dates of the progress from the start.”
