State Representative Dan Howell and Alvin Word. Mr. Word was one of the sponsors of the Burgers and Badges event for the past two years.
Barry Maples served as the keynote for the event. Mr. Maples is the father of former Cleveland Police Officer Justin Maples who was killed in a car wreck in 2012 while on duty.
CSCC hosted its second annual Burgers and Badges on Wednesday to honor all first responders in the community.
In addition to Bradley County, the college also invited first responders from CSCC’s entire service area of McMinn, Meigs, Monroe and Polk counties.
