Kedrick Bush Charged In Overdose Death Of Barbara Shope, 30

The Chattanooga Police Department's Narcotics Unit has charged 30-year-old Kedrick Bush with second-degree murder in the death of 30-year-old Barbara Shope. 

On Aug. 13, at approximately 11:30 p.m., CPD officers were dispatched to a drug overdose call at a residence in the 2400 block of Williams Street. When they arrived on the scene, officers located Ms. Shope deceased.

The Hamilton County Medical Examiner later determined Ms. Shope died of an opioid overdose. 

After a thorough investigation, the CPD Narcotics Unit determined Kedrick D. Bush was both the supplier of the narcotics and on scene at the time of Ms. Shope's death.

Other charges are pending against Bush, who is currently in custody at the Franklin County Jail. He will be extradited to Chattanooga. 

Bush was arrested Sept. 19 on multiple charges, including selling meth and heroin.
