Juanette Mitchell
Juanette Jane Burger Mitchell, 88, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, passed away on November 12, 2018, surrounded by her family.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Soddy Daisy. Born in Copper Hill, Tn., on Oct. 27, 1930, she was the wife of the late Jackson (Jack) H. Mitchell, formerly of Hixson, Tn. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Fred Raymond and Annie Lucill (Brown) Burger, son Terry Wade Mitchell, and twin sister Jeanette Woosley.
She leaves behind her son, Raymond (Debbie) Mitchell of Soddy Daisy, grandchildren, Christina and Benjamin Mitchell, brother, Eddie Joe Burger, Chattanooga, and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to her niece Kathy Griffith who frequently would take her shopping, to the movies, out to eat, and would stay overnight with her when needed.
She graduated from Erlanger school of nursing and worked for Boatwright, Miller and Ramsey for most of her career in the Hixson area until she retired. She loved to travel, sing in the church choir, go square dancing with her sister and brother and attend the Lookouts baseball games and spring training with her husband Jack.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 16, from 4-8 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at Chattanooga Memorial Park, 501 Memorial Drive on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Dan McMillan officiating.
