Gates Crowned Lee’s Homecoming Queen 2018

Lee University senior human development major Emily Gates was crowned Homecoming Queen during halftime of the men’s basketball game at Lee’s Centennial Homecoming. 

Ms. Gates is the daughter of Richard and Beth Gates of Cumming, Ga. She is the chair of the Student Leadership Council, a student worker for the Office of Admissions and the Office of Student Development, and a member of the Sigma Tau Delta honor society. Ms. Gates was escorted by Chris Absher. 

Mr. Absher is the son of Wesley and Liz Absher of Cleveland. He is a member of the Lee Singers, Adopt-a-Grandparent, Alpha Chi and Theta Alpha Kappa honor societies, and the Koine Greek Club, and he works as a teacher’s assistant for School of Religion theology courses. 

Also representing the senior class was Faith James. She is the daughter of Louis and Ellen Midden and Ed and Migdalia James of Franklin, Tn. She serves as the senior resident assistant for Livingston Hall and is a member of Alpha Kappa Delta and Psi Chi honor societies. Ms. James was escorted by Chandler McCosh. 

Mr. McCosh is the son of Greg and Shannon McCosh of Englewood, Tn. He serves as a Gateway Peer Leader and is a member of Tech Crew and Crossover ministry. 

Another representative of the senior class was Savannah Ogle. She is the daughter of Arvil and Cheryl Ogle of West Monroe, La. She is a member of the Lee Singers, LeeU Worship band, Sigma Nu Sigma, and Tau Kappa Omega, and she works in the Admissions Office. Ms. Ogle was escorted by Caleb Montgomery. 

Mr. Montgomery is the son of Keith and Susan Montgomery of Woodstock, Ga. He serves as the resident chaplain of Carroll Court and works as an intern in the Leonard Center. 

Also representing the senior class was Savannah Stone. She is the daughter of Vince and Tena Stone of Cleveland. She works as the editor-in-chief of the Vindagua, is a member of the Alternative Chapel Committee, and serves as a Gateway Peer Leader. Ms. Stone was escorted by Jarod Noel. 

Mr. Noel is the son of Dan and Amy Noel of Dayton, Ohio. He serves as a Gateway Peer Leader and is a member of Tech Crew and the Alternative Chapel Committee.

Representing the junior class was Randyl Music of Baltimore, Maryland. She was escorted by Isaac Barrick of Wilmington, De. 

Also representing the junior class was India Wheeler of Bowling Green, Ky. She was escorted by Will Hammond of Cleveland. 

Representing the sophomore class was McKenzie Abbott of Spring Hill, Tn. She was escorted by Alex Hooker of Dalton. 

Another sophomore class representative was Dory Hatchett of Clarkesville, Ga. She was escorted by Matt Smolen of Evansville, In. 

Representing the freshman class was Ashley Ratcliff of Dayton, Ohio. She was escorted by Stephen Jordan of Franklin, Tn. 

Also representing the freshman class was Ellie Smith of Franklin, Tn. She was escorted by Sam Lonas of Maryville, Tn.
