Nancy Ward Chapter, NSDAR, started its 2018 calendar year on Valentine’s Day with the monthly meeting at Mountain City Club.  The Daughters selected a “Go Red!” theme to remind members about American Heart Month.  Information on Heart Month and how to reduce the risk of heart disease was later distributed to all members.

Two new members were inducted, Keely Farris and Beth Moneymaker.  Other business included assigning members to distribute ready-to-hang posters of George Washington in honor of Presidents’ Day and discussing plans for the Nancy Ward Dedication Day ceremonies to take place in Benton, Tennessee on March 24.

Ray Smith, author, speaker, and retired Y-12 historian, presented a program on the Oak Ridge facility and also shared his knowledge of a stolen statue of Nancy Ward.
