Norwood, Zora Mae (Dalton)

Zora Mae Norwood, 90, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday morning, March 12, 2018 at a local hospital.

Zora was born on May 7, 1927 in Rainsville, Al., a daughter of the late Isaac H. and Delia Carter Sparks. She was also preceded in death by her husband, JT Norwood; son, Dennis Lee Norwood; brothers, JW Sparks, Hugh Sparks, Charles Sparks; sisters, Marie Robinson, Irene Wilkey, Flora Culver, Sarah Sampley; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Norwood; granddaughter, April Lynthlin, and great-grandchild, Cara Lynthlin. 

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Norwood of Dalton, Jerry and Robin Norwood of Chatsworth, Ga.; sister, Betty Henderson of Rome, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Shanda Collins of Oregon, Raylee Lynthlin of Chatsworth, Ga.; and great-great-grandchild, Roman Collins. 

Service to celebrate the life of Zora Mae Norwood will be held on Wednesday, March 14, at 12 p.m. from the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Bret Yeager, Bob Sampley and Danny Goss officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, at the funeral home, from 5-9 p.m.
