A joint investigation by special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, deputies with the Bledsoe County Sheriff’s Department and officers with the Pikeville Police Department has resulted in the arrest of a Pikeville woman on a charge of criminal homicide.

Nakayla Shawnta Sullivan, 25, was arrested and charged with one count of criminal homicide.

She was booked into the Bledsoe County Jail. No bond has been set at this time.  The investigation remains ongoing.

At the request of 12th District Attorney General J. Michael Taylor, last Friday, TBI agents joined Bledsoe County deputies and Pikeville Police officers in a missing person investigation. Thomas R. Rogers, 30, of Pikeville, had been reported missing by a family member the day before.

On Tuesday, a deputy found Mr. Rogers’ body in a wooded area off Valley View Road in Pikeville.

During the course of the investigation, agents and deputies developed information that identified Ms. Sullivan as being responsible for the death of Thomas Rogers, the TBI said.
