Willie Person, 42, Killed In Accident On Dodds Avenue

Willie Person, 42, was killed Thursday night in an accident on Dodds Avenue. The Chattanooga Police Department responded to the traffic crash at 2700 Dodds Ave.

Mitsubishi Montero driven by Saahe Johnson, 33, was traveling north on Dodds Avenue, attempting a left turn onto East 28th Street. As she was making the turn, a Honda motorcycle driven by Mr. Person was traveling south on Dodds Avenue continuing straight through the intersection. The two made contact in the intersection, and Mr. Person was thrown to the ground.

A Chrylser Town & Country minivan, driven by Rochelle Kent, 33, was traveling north on Dodds Avenue, was unable to see Mr. Person on the ground, and ran over him.

After the collision, Ms. Johnson continued with the turn, but later stopped after realizing someone was struck. Mr. Person was pronounced deceased on scene.

Members of the Chattanooga Police Traffic Division are actively investigating the crash. Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423 698-2525 or submit a tip through Chattanooga PD Mobile app.
