World War II Veteran Was Owner Of Modern Display Crafts

William Russell Young, Sr., 94, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 14, 2018. 

He was the son of the late Ira Bruce and Marie Young and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. William was a member if Brainerd Baptist Church and was the owner of Modern Display Crafts.

William was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Young, grandson Joe Hayes, brothers Bruce and Frank Young.

He is survived by his children, Bill Young Jr., Peggy (Ed) Merritt, Susan (Terry) Goins, Sally (Mark) Staples, 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Rev. Michael O’Shields officiating. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
