A man was injured early Tuesday in an accident on Highway 60.

911 dispatchers were notified at approximately 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday, by OnStar that a vehicle using their notification service had crashed near the 6400 block of Highway 60 near the Hamilton County/Meigs County line.

Due to the fact the location of the call was questionable as to where it occurred, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office personnel, HCEMS, and Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department firefighters along with Meigs County first responders responded to the scene.

Upon locating the accident, the determination was made the incident occurred in Hamilton County.

The vehicle was located off the roadway, down the side of an embankment (not visible from the roadway) on Highway 60. It appeared at some point during the crash it had hit a power pole and flipped on its top. The exact details of how the single vehicle crash occurred are under investigation.

The man operating the vehicle was extricated and transported to a local hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The vehicle was only occupied by the driver.
