Arthur L. Edwards, 84, of Rossville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday August 15, 2018. He was a resident of the North Georgia area and a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, church treasurer, choir member, Sunday School teacher and coach of the men’s softball team. He also coached little league baseball at Lakeview and Westside communities for many years. He was a veteran of the Air Force, serving in the Korean War. Arthur was dedicated to serving his family, his country and his church.

Arthur was preceded in death by parents, James and Edith Corley Edwards and three brothers James Jr., Willard and Charles Edwards.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jean Edwards; sons, David (Lorie) Edwards and Daniel (Kellie) Edwards; daughter, Diane (Ricky) Nix; brothers, Bobby Edwards, of Birmingham, Fred Edwards, of Washington, D.C. and Frank Edwards, of Gallatin, Tn.; sister, Ellen Cooper, of East Ridge; step-grandson, Brennan Cantrell; and grandsons, Eric Edwards and Landon Edwards.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. David Stancil officiating.

Interment in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
