Virginia (Ditty) Brown, 87, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018.

 

Virginia worked for Moore & King Pharmacy for 35 years.  She was the first person in Chattanooga to care for people with ostomy, helping with their supplies and fittings.  She was a member of Tyner Church of Christ, and loved and adored her cat, Prissy.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; two brothers; her daughter and son-in-law, Gayle (Jim) Oakey; grandson, Brett Oakey and her loving husband, William Pruett Brown.

 

She is survived by her sons, Danny (Karen) Brown and Alan Brown; daughter, Connie McCaleb; granddaughters, Jennifer Schafluetzel, Chase Brown, Chelle McCaleb, Samantha (Grant) Calhoun and Sarah Brown; grandsons, Weston (Dawn) Brown and Shayne McCaleb; great-granddaughters, Lilly Schafluetzel, Ava Calhoun, Emmaline Brown and Caroline Calhoun; and great-grandsons, Keegan Schafluetzel and Will Brown.

 

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 24, at Tyner Church of Christ, 6620 Bonny Oaks Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421, with Minister John Cupp officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-4 p.m.
