Lions Treasurer Randall Franks presented Dr. Denise Q. Shepard the Lions Club International Melvin Jones Fellowship on behalf of the Boynton Lions Club of Ringgold.
The Melvin Jones Fellowship acknowledges that $1,000 was donated to benefit the Lions Clubs International Foundation supporting international humanitarian programs that serve people in need.
“Key among these are preserving sight, supporting youth and disaster relief,” Mr. Franks said. “Denise has played a role in all these areas in our club’s community service. Her dedication through Lionism to those in need throughout our region has made an enormous impact on the lives of our neighbors.”
Dr. Shepard is a board-certified optometrist practicing in the North Georgia for over 30 years. She grew up in Rossville and graduated from Rossville High School. She volunteers with local Lions Clubs and the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation.
