Officials at the East Tennessee Tazewell Speedway dirt track have booked a season finale event with the United Championship Racing Alliance for Saturday, Oct. 27. It will be the third $3,000 to-Win / 50 lap championship points battle of the season at the “Bad-Fast-Taz” that continuously bring the region’s top fields of racers to the 1/3 mile ultra high banked facility.

The “Topless Spooker 50” event will see the roofs of the Crate Late Models removed along with a “Track or Treat” event for the costumed kids early Saturday afternoon with the drivers of Tazewell Speedway and the UCRA race-teams passing out candy.

As of press-time eight different winners have visited UCRA Victory Lane so far in 2018, the most recent being local North Carolina dominator, Jason “The Big” Deal in Brasstown at Ray Cook’s Tri-County Race Track. Previous UCRA winners at Tazewell include current Rookie of the Year points leader, Michael Courtney of Knoxville, Anthony White of Clinton, Tn. (2015 and 2017) and local fan favorite, Jason Trammel of Knoxville.

Jimmy Elliott of Cleveland and his “Mohawk Warriors” lead the $16,000 points standings for the 2018 season, despite being winless on the tour so far in 2018. Kenny Kizzar of Graysville Mountain, Tn, Crossville's Jesse Lowe, Georgia’s Devin Stuart and Kyle Courtney are battling within the UCRA Top 5 of points with just a few races remaining on the season.

Local racers that will be expected Saturday along UCRA regulars include the likes of Phillip Thompson, Josh Fields, Pierce McCarter, Jordan and Jody Horton, Ross White and Ryan Winchester, all from the East Tennessee area.

Gate and start times for this event will be announced later.

With the addition of the Tazewell event the UCRA will now conclude the 2018 season with three finale events in three back to back weekends, with Oct. 20 at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater and Nov. 2-3 at Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, N.C. bookending the Tazewell (Oct. 28) date.
