GNTC To Host Industrial Career Day At The Whitfield Murray Campus This Friday

High school students from across the northwest Georgia region and members of the community will get a chance to explore various industrial careers and skilled trades when Georgia Northwestern Technical College holds its second Industrial Career Day of the year on Friday at the Whitfield Murray Campus in Dalton. 
 
Approximately 800 regional high school students and members of the community attended GNTC’s first Industrial Career Day of the year on the Floyd County Campus in Rome on Sept.
13. The second Industrial Career Day in Dalton was added due to popular demand.
 
The activities for the Oct. 18 Industrial Career Day will take place from 9 a.m.-noon at GNTC’s new state-of-the-art Whitfield Murray Campus Expansion. The industrial labs are housed side by side in Industrial Row. This provides a centralized location with access to the industrial labs on the Dalton campus. Additional industrial programs from other GNTC campuses and vendors will set up displays and activities in Industrial Row and other sections of the Whitfield Murray Campus Expansion.
 
The event is free and open to the public. T-shirts will be distributed, while supplies last, and snacks will be provided.
 
Industrial program directors will be on-hand to discuss their programs and provide tours of their labs. There will be demonstrations, simulators and hands-on learning activities for the industrial programs offered by GNTC. Local employers also will be present to speak with participants about the benefits of learning a skilled trade.
 
Featured GNTC industrial programs will include Air Conditioning Technology, Automation Engineering Technology, Automotive Technology, Aviation Maintenance Technology, CNC Technology, Commercial Truck Driving, Construction Management, Diesel Equipment Technology, Electrical Systems Technology, Flooring Production Operator and Technician, Industrial Systems Technology, Instrumentation and Controls, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Precision Machining and Manufacturing and Welding and Joining Technology.
