The Signal Mountain boys and girls cross-country teams won state championships on Saturday in Nashville. Running in the Division I small school race, the boys finished ahead Alcoa and the girls out ran second place University School of Johnson City.
Signal Mountain's Austin Wingfield led the team with a 5th place finish. Colton Underwood finished 9th, followed by Micheal Lancaster 11th and Joshua Pote 12th.
In the girls race, Tara Jessen was seventh 7th and Kelsey Tompson 8th.
Sophia Gibby finished 10th, Gracen Glover 11th and Caroline Cornett 12th.
