Lois Nolen, 78, Rossville went home to be with the Lord Sunday February 17, 2019. She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area. Lois was a member of the Mission Ridge Baptist Church. Mrs. Nolen was a 1958 graduate of Rossville High School, and was head majorette with the Rossville Bulldog Marching Band.
Her husband of 54 years, Hurdist Nolen, preceded her in death. With her husband, she was an active member of the Ringgold-based square dance group, Friday Nite Live. She loved playing piano and played in many area churches, including Clifton Hills Baptist, Wallaceville Baptist, Mission Ridge Baptist and Clearview Baptist. In addition, she taught piano to many students in North Georgia. She enjoyed working in her flowers and gardening.
Survivors are her loving children, Todd (Kristy) Nolen and Charese Veal; sister, Joanne (Donald) Evitt; and grandchildren, Beck Nolen, Nick Calhoun, Hope Calhoun and Brandi (David) Flood.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home chapel, with Ted Verville and Randy Lynn officiating.
Interment will be in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
